Here's a rare treat for you - a special batch of Prototype FD3's, made famous by Eagle McMahon himself!
These discs represent the very first FD3's produced in our production facility in Sweden. All discs from this run come in the vibrant red color. It was one of these discs that Eagle McMahon used to secure his first PDGA Major victory at the European Open 2022, by placing his upshot on the green of the treacherous hole 18 right after Paul McBeth had parked his 2nd shot for a tap-in birdie.
These FD3's have been a go-to choice for many team members, thanks to their very predictable overstable flight pattern. Appearance-wise there'sa some subtledifferences between these and . Firstly, there's the stamp, which in the case of these discs have the FD3 branding and the "prototype" line underneath. These alsofeature a bit stiffer blend of plastic - these might actually be the stiffest FD3's we've ever made. The wing height (PLH) on these is pretty exactly on par with the Mystery Box run, but the rim itself definitely feels a bit meatier in these prototypes than on the Mystery Box run discs. The dome on both versions is pretty minimal - calling these flat would probably be accurate by most standards. As opposed to certain prototypes out there, the FD3 protos do feature the FD3 engraving on the bottom side of the disc.
About the the FD3
The FD3 is our true workhorse fairway driver. Featuring a low profile, blunt nose, and concave inner rim, this is the disc to get things done. It can be trusted to handle high amounts of wind, forehand shots, thumber/tomahawk, and snappy backhand throws from even the strongest arms. Every player needs one of these in the bag for its sheer reliability and durability.
The FD3 is the most stable fairway driver in our Originals line. For many players it will be an utility driver that only comes out in specific situations, like in strong headwinds or to cut tight corners. For players with more arm speed, it will hold a straight line for a longer time, before the inevitable fade.
